RCBC Surveys on Illegal Dumping and Recycling

5/17/2017

In the past month, RCBC issued two surveys in order to gather information to support our members, our communities, and our province. Performing this type of research on waste reduction efforts in BC is a legacy function of the Council, and this effort is the latest iteration of that work.

The first survey concerns illegal dumping or abandoned waste. This work is done in support of the illegal dumping session we'll be holding at RCBC 2017 on June 21. Our intent is to understand the issue from the local government perspective, and to use that data to inform the process at the conference. Delegates will hear from speakers who are working on illegal dumping in a variety of community settings. We will convene a panel discussion after the presentations and engage with the audience to determine what a collaborative effort to combat illegal dumping might look like in BC.

For our local government members, please click below for the survey link to participate:

The second survey is about recycling in general and is meant for general public participation. If you or your organization have a communications channel that can promote awareness of this opportunity for BC residents to participate in, please feel free to share the following link:

20 Questions on Recycling in BC

That survey will remain open until July 7, 2017. RCBC will analyze the results, then provide a public report on our website after that date.

RCBC's goal is to assist of all our members who are working towards the elimination of waste. Through data collection and analysis, we hope to help make those efforts better informed and thus more effective in the long term. Thank you for your participation and cooperation, and we hope to see you all June 21-23, in Whistler for RCBC 2017: Summit of Solutions.
